The Canandaigua Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and its Auxiliary work are thrilled to return to CAMF again this year. The group works tirelessly to support local, state and national veterans programs. Their time is often spent volunteering at the local Veteran Medical Center by going in several times a month to play bingo and award cash or VA canteen books. They sponsor ice cream socials and also a summer time BBQ in August for the patients.
What inspires the group to share their message is the fact that “We are the home of the free because of the brave.” They work to support our veterans and their families everyday in Canandaigua or in the halls of our government leaders in Albany. The Canandaigua Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and its Auxiliary teach those young and old about our flag, patriotism and encourage them to say The Pledge of Allegiance. They seek to raise money to continue veteran programs through Buddy Poppy drives and donations.
They look forward to talking to the different attendees and encourage kids to come get a patriotic temporary tattoo. If you are interested in getting involved in the organization be sure to visit them at the festival’s Community Cause-Way on Saturday and Sunday!
