VFW 7414 Auxiliary

The Canandaigua Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and its Auxiliary work are thrilled to return to CAMF again this year. The group works tirelessly to support local, state and national veterans programs. Their time is often spent volunteering at the local Veteran Medical Center by going in several times a month to play bingo and award cash or VA canteen books. They sponsor ice cream socials and also a summer time BBQ in August for the patients.

What inspires the group to share their message is the fact that “We are the home of the free because of the brave.” They work to support our veterans and their families everyday in Canandaigua or in the halls of our government leaders in Albany. The Canandaigua Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and its Auxiliary teach those young and old about our flag, patriotism and encourage them to say The Pledge of Allegiance. They seek to raise money to continue veteran programs through Buddy Poppy drives and donations.

They look forward to talking to the different attendees and encourage kids to come get a patriotic temporary tattoo. If you are interested in getting involved in the organization be sure to visit them at the festival’s Community Cause-Way on Saturday and Sunday!

Vicki’s Block Printed Clothing

Vicki Brouk will be returning to the Canandaigua Arts and Music Festival for the second consecutive year. This year, her block printing designs were created using a new technique – cutting pieces and gluing them onto blocks then printing the designs. She is using recycled Styrofoam plates to carve designs as well as the traditional linoleum blocks.

Vicki looks forward to returning this year because of how the public reacted to her designs last year. She said her biggest compliment from customers is her “eye for color” which is most noticeable on the T-shirts.  Be ready to see some adorable summer dresses, crew neck tees for men, and a variety of tunics for the ladies at this year’s festival! The well-liked Finger Lakes tribute tee is back by popular demand, in addition to toasting wine glasses.

The Textured Whinos

The Textured Whinos will be performing on Friday, July 14th from 1:45- 3:15 P.M.

This mostly acoustic rock band will be playing everything from contemporary, classic rock, to country, and folk. Music from the 60s to today will be featured during their set, as the band members channel their inspirations which include everything from Bob Dylan, James Taylor, and 3 Doors Down to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

The Textured Whinos love coming to the festival because the audience is enthusiastic and loves live music as much as they do! The band is excited for everyone to shake their bones – and expect something by John Denver, because his songs seem to be the most requested by fans.
